While Janus Rasmussen played indie electropop in the trio Bloodgroup, Ólafur Arnalds begun his career as a punk drummer. The latter became a star of the Iceland music scene thanks to his minimalist post-rock and modern classical records, then music for film and television. In 2014, they exploded on to the scene as a double act with a record of microhouse, tech house and dance music. Kiasmos put out the odd EP from time to time, before releasing their elegant and ambient second album in the summer of 2024, ten years after their debut. Now, after a five-year hiatus, they are returning to performing concerts and will showcase material from their new album at Müpa Budapest.
